How can grandmothers everywhere in the world be given the opportunity to speak their truth and add their wisdom to return balance and honor to the global community?

On Honor Day 2005, August 20, grandmothers around the world, in the traditions of their own people, will walk, run, dance, wheel or be carried to their places of power and speak what is on their hearts. Gathering in twos or thousands, over tea, under a tree or in large meeting places, they will put words to what they know and feel deeply.

Collectively, our Elder Women carry vast wisdom and vision that we need to hear in order to build a more desirable future. This is not a protest or resistance to anything, but a deepening of our awareness of who we are, where we came from and our ability to decide the direction for our future for the next seven generations.

Our goal is to reach every Grandmother in every city, town or village on Mother Earth that a day has been set aside for her to speak her vision of living with more honor. We have the capacity to do that.

The Million Grandmothers March is a self-generating, self-organizing world-wide event. Every person who joins the campaign takes on the intention of spreading this information to every country and every language. The idea is to use every means of communication possible to build a web of honor reaching every corner of the globe by August 20. Our website www.HonorDay.org will act as the central coordinating hub.

How do we build a web of honor around the world? Tell everyone you know to tell everyone they know to tell all the Grandmothers they know that on August 20 people will be coming together in large and small gatherings all around the world to listen to them.
